Coming soon in 2022! 11am to 4pm Om Yoga Works, Farsley, Leeds
A day to rest in a soulful and sacred way, taking the time for ourselves to remember the great mystery. We will rest in stillness with restorative yoga , listen to therapeutic stories, move the body gently and meditatively, practice sacred mudras and nidra with ancient healing mantras to soothe the soul and knit ourselves back together again.
Please note, as a way of taking care of each other and not passing on the lurgy, I would be really grateful if all attendees please carry out a lateral flow test before attending. Unfortunately I cannot give refunds, but if you need to cancel due to illness I will give you credit for my online work.
£50 for the day, non refundable. Please email me on firstname.lastname@example.org (or through this site) to reserve a space and I will send you bank details.
Venue: Om Yoga Works, 15D Springfield Commercial Centre, Bagley Lane, Farsley, LS28 5LY
"As a black working class woman I find you and your yoga totally accessible and inclusive to me. I’m totally aware of who I’m surrounded by when I attend your workshops (and other classes and workshops too) but I feel that your yoga is for me too." Zoe Thomas, black working class woman, single mother
"I really enjoyed the workshop and you created a really lovely, nurturing environment that felt safe to be in. It was the perfect mix of movement, stillness, story and conversation. I found it a really useful step too in my healing process; the work on trauma at the end was particularly helpful from a personal perspective. I’ve been on a bit of a journey this year trying to understand the effects that trauma has on the body and am gradually trying to reset my nervous system... it’s a slow process, at times! I read Van der Kolk’s absolutely amazing ‘The Body Keeps the Score’ a few months ago - and I know he cites the role yoga can play in healing the nervous system - so it was really good to experience that kind of trauma sensitive/focused yoga in practice today." Laura
"Wow, something happened in that room after that last therapeutic meditation! I find all of your workshops deeply therapeutic on all levels. However that last practice took me (and I think everyone else) to another level." Zoe Thomas, black working class woman, single mother
Just a rambling note to say thanks for today, Gillian. I really felt like I had come home.....I thought your chanting today was beautiful, experienced and natural and very effective. Your take on the koshas was v powerful ..... I have drifted so far away from my practice and the idea of returning was scary and I couldn't see very far past the Metoo scandals and was feeling v disillusioned with it. But today was amazing." Angie, primary school teacher
